Concrete Evidence That Your Flooring Needs Repair

Concrete is one of the most durable flooring materials available. However, this doesn’t mean that it is indestructible and concrete also succumbs to the wear and tear that comes with constant use.

With more businesses becoming more eco-friendly and wanting to cut down on their carbon footprint, repairing rather than replacing broken concrete flooring can cut down on the waste produced, as well as being better for the environment!

But how can you tell when your concrete floor needs repairing? Let’s take a look!

Cracks

This is a pretty obvious sign that your concrete floor needs a bit of tender loving care. Before rushing ahead and replacing your entire floor because a crack has formed, consult with a concrete flooring specialist who’ll be able to tell you whether it can be repaired or warrants a total replacement.

Concrete

If a repair is conducted, your specialist will often reinforce the area so the likelihood of a crack forming there again is next to none.

Holes or Dents

In some environments, dents and holes in your concrete floors are simply unavoidable. However, any dent or hole in your floor poses a safety hazard, as well as looking unsightly.

Contacting a concrete flooring specialist in the event of a dent or hole forming in your floor can help you avoid paying out for an entire new floor. Floor grinding can be used to smooth the surface of the floor around the dent, and any holes can be filled in and ground down to make the floor look good as new, at a reasonable cost.

Scratches and Scuffs

Scratches and scuffs can make your floor look messy and untidy. To get rid of scratches and scuffs on your concrete floor, rather than going over the top and laying an entire new floor, invest in a concrete refinishing service.

This takes the top few layers of concrete off and makes the floor look like it has had a brand new layer of concrete applied… as well as eradicate the scratches and scuffs!

Discolouration

Again, this it a purely cosmetic problem that doesn’t warrant buying an entire new floor to get rid of.

To keep that concrete looking like it has just been freshly laid and erase any ugly stains or other discolouration, a concrete refinishing service could be used to grind off a few top layers to refresh the concrete.

Of course, this process can only be performed a number of times before a new floor would need to be replaced; especially if the whole floor is treated like this frequently, as essentially you are getting rid of layers of the concrete. You will need to add more concrete at some point if you are planning on making this a regular service to your flooring, so try not to over grind the stains out of your floor!

We love concrete floorings, and we believe that it shouldn’t be a necessity to have to replace your flooring unless it is absolutely essential. Why should you pay out valuable money on a brand new floor when you don’t need to?
