Concrete Plan: Resurfacing Your Flooring

When installing our reliable industrial flooring solutions, we notice that there can be a tendency to allow floors to get into quite a poor state of disrepair. Concrete flooring is the ultimate flooring for standing up to anything from chemical attack to excessive footfall, but even the most durable and hardwearing flooring can need a little bit of love.

One thing which people seem to take for granted with concrete flooring is that it can stand up to so much, and therefore feel like they can treat it as though it’s invincible. While it is incredibly hardwearing, it can still need the odd touch up occasionally.

Prevent It Becoming a Hazard

Through protecting or touching up your flooring you are preventing it becoming a potential hazard. Wear and tear is expected and can happen for a number of reasons, so catching a crack before it manifests itself into anything more serious, or becomes irreparable, is not only beneficial to your health and safety but also for preventing any further damage that may occur to machinery or even stock.

Epoxy Coating to the Rescue

Through the simple application of some form of resinous coating, such as our epoxy services, you can prevent the need for having to replace a whole section of flooring later. As a result you not only save a greater amount of money, but can prevent any severe disruption to your business operation. Coating a floor can be something of a large task, but replacing the flooring is even greater, therefore nipping the safety issue in the bud is by far the easiest situation all round.

Why Resurface?

Well, besides the fact that it can lead to larger issues at a not-so-later date, resurfacing with an epoxy coating helps to reinforce your floor. Anything from machine vibration to heavily loaded forklifts can damage a chipped industrial floor if action isn’t taken soon enough. Furthermore, once liquid gets into cracks, you are looking at an increased rate of deterioration as well as the potential for mould growth and the spread of bacteria. Equally, temperature changes are notoriously bad for cracks, particularly in Britain where our weather can reach fairly extreme opposites; these temperature changes can exacerbate the deterioration and leave an industrial floor in a dangerous state if not cared for.
