Industrial floor screeding is the ideal solution to upgrade or level existing concrete floors. Floor screed can be laid from as little as 3mm thick up to 100mm, and can be used internally as well as externally, we have the capacity to cover up to 1,000m2 per day and most floor screeds we use can be worked within 12 to 24 hours.
Industrial Floor Screeds Contractor
Industrial floor screeding is one of the most important steps to get right in industrial floor screeds to ensure a quality finish and durability. PSR are specialists in using industrial floor screeds to level out flatness issues and whereas other companies may use expensive grinding methods – which are both time consuming and leave grinding channels, we use an overlay floor screed system. This has the benefit of being able lay floor screeds to the required tolerances whilst avoiding problems caused by the use of grinding methods.
Dust free floor preparation is a key part of the success of our industrial floor screeding. Concrete surfaces must be sound, dry and fully cured (not subject to shrinkage). Any laitance or surface treatments must be removed by mechanical means, such as dust free diamond grinding, and the surface tensile strength of the substrate should be a minimum of 15 N/mm2. If an impervious coating, screed or floor covering is to be used, the concrete/screed substrate should be below 75% RH. Alternately, an Epoxy DPM should be applied. The temperature of the floor must be maintained above 5°C throughout the application and for the drying of the base or topping Screed. Topping products can be supplied pigmented for a wide range of aesthetically pleasing finishes.
For application over cement floor screeds, concrete and other porous substrates, PSR seal the prepared surface by applying two coats of Acrylic Primer diluted with three parts of water to one part primer and this is allowed to dry. It is imperative that any expansion joints covered should be saw cut or mirrored and sealed.
Base Screeds & Topping Screeds
Topping floor screed is designed as an industrial grade floor topping for upgrading and renovating new and existing internal floors with industrial floor screeds. The product is supplied as a pre-blended dry powder designed for application between 5mm to 15mm (in one application) to provide a finished floor.
Topping floor screed is self-smoothing, dimensionally stable, and fast drying. It is suitable for use in a wide range of industrial environments that are subject to medium to heavy traffic, such as warehouse flooring and food-processing plants etc.
Typically floor screeds can be pumped up to 2000m2 per day. Coverage of 1000m2 can be achieved when hand applied, dependent upon staffing and equipment used.
