The Process of Industrial Flooring
At PSR Industrial Flooring, we pride ourselves on our ability to provide high-quality industrial floors and flooring services to all of our clients.
However, you may be wondering about the steps that are taken in the industrial flooring process. Here, we will take you through each of the services that we provide and show you the steps we take to ensure that you are left with a safe, durable and high-quality finish.
Floor screeding is the perfect solution if you want to upgrade your existing concrete floor. Floor screeding works to level any existing floors, ensuring that all uneven surfaces are removed.
A floor screed is a cement-like material made from a combination of cement and sharp sand. There are essentially two ways that a floor screed can be applied.
Floor screed can be:
- Directly bonded to the base, with an optimum thickness that is suitable for the specific surface. The minimum thickness could be as little as 3mm thick and the maximum could be up to 100mm.
- Applied as a floating finish over stiff insulation material if there is any under-floor piping.
Floor screed can either be left as finished or floated, which produces a smooth finished surface. At PSR Industrial Flooring, we have the ability to provide floor screeding for spaces up to 1000m2, and we can usually complete a floor screed in between 12 and 24 hours depending on your requirements. This means that we can offer a high-quality, time-efficient floor screed that will even your floor surface quickly and effectively.
Floor grinding is the process by which an old floor surface is removed so that a new one can be applied.
By using high-performance equipment, our floor grinders can work on any surface, making any task achievable. Our HTC planetary grinders are 99% dust free and will effectively remove floor coverings such as:
- Epoxy resin
- Carpet Adhesive
- Self-levelling compounds
Floor grinding is a superior method for floor covering removal, and is safer and more effective than other methods such as scarifying and shot-blasting.
By using our floor grinding services, your end result will be a clean, even surface that is ready to be re-floored with the right materials.
Floor Coatings and Resin Flooring
Floor coatings have the advantage of being non-slip and more visible, giving you more peace of mind in terms of the health and safety of your employees.
Floor coatings are flexible, and can be used anywhere from restaurant kitchens to warehouses to multi-storey car parks.
We use the most innovative methods to lay our industrial floors, including precise diamond tools, to give the most precise, effective finish possible using high-quality epoxy resin and polyurethane.
Floor Joint Repairs and Re-seals
Joint failure is an immense maintenance problem, particularly in warehouses where flooring is subjected to regular heavy machinery traffic. If these repairs are not carried out properly, you risk damaging expensive equipment such as forklifts as well as risking the health and wellbeing of your employees.
The replacement of floor joints can be done effectively by saw cutting, breaking apart and removing the damaged area of the flooring, and then sealing this area with a specialised sealant which will leave a seamless, smooth surface that does not pose a risk to equipment or employees.
At PSR Industrial Flooring, we are also able to reseal these joints after long wear by repeating this process and applying fresh sealant, offering a cost-effective, high-quality finish for your industrial floor.
Industrial Floor Repairs
Even the strongest industrial flooring materials require proper maintenance and occasional repair in order for health and safety standards to be maintained, therefore it is crucial that these repairs are carried out thoroughly and using the correct methods.
Damage and corrosion can occur over time, and if these damages are not repaired properly, they can be made worse and cost you more in the long-term.
Our tried and tested methods of floor maintenance and repair offer a cost-effective method of regaining an even floor that is built to last.
When repairing your floor, we assess your needs to give you the most cost-effective option, which can be restricting repairs to areas of damage only, causing minimum disruption to workflow or ensuring a minimum cost for you.
Using the correct methods and processes is essential for an effective, long-lasting industrial floor, and at PSR Industrial Flooring, we pride ourselves on our ability to offer the most innovative methods of industrial floor application and repair in the industry.
